Kyles Community Broadband is looking for a temporary Community Liaison Officer

KCB is looking for an outgoing, well-connected, computer-literate and above-all local person to work on a freelance basis to provide community liaison and research for Kyles Community Broadband (KCB). This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and livelihoods of folk all across Cowal and Bute who have suffered from poor broadband connectivity for too long!

The Liaison Officer will gather data on all properties in KCB’s service area to ensure the organisation has the correct details and understands each potential subscriber’s requirements. This work will result in a detailed and accurate dataset which when input into a CRM database will provide the basis for the roll-out of the Community Broadband project in the second half of 2018 and early 2019. The Liaison Officer will be expected to visit residents and businesses throughout the area as needed. When applicable, these visits will be supported by the local KCB director.

The Liaison Officer will also be responsible for providing weekly updates to the community via the KCB website, new media and public meetings, including Community Council meetings.

Briefings and progress updates to the board will be communicated at the weekly teleconference, and the officer will be line-managed by a KCB director.

The role will be contracted on a freelance basis, with an estimate of 150 hours over 8-10 weeks to a maximum budget of £2,000 + expenses.

KCB will conduct interviews in the second or third week of March and the deadline for submissions is 9th March 2018

To apply, please send your CV with a covering letter to kcb@kcb.scot.
